Anti-graft group decry alleged wrongdoings on sale of FG owned Kano, Lagos Survey offices

Date:

The Coalition of Civil Society Groups on Efficiency in Governance has decried the alleged wrongdoings on the sale of offices of the federal government owned Survey offices spread across the country.

Led by Comrade Danesi Momoh , the coalition blamed the Surveyor General of the Federation, Surv. Adebomeyin Abdulganiyu for the alleged infraction.

The coalition particularly accused Abdulganiyu of brazen illegal sales of government offices and lands which include those of Bompai office in Kano for N250 million in July 2024 where N200 million of the sum was used for the development of the land based on suspicious and fraudulent PPP arrangement with the contractor.

The coalition also cited suspicious sales of OSGOF land at Zoo Road in Kano, sale of OSGOF land in Imo State, sale of OSGOF land in Kwara Field Office.

The coalition warned against what they termed “another fraudulent proceeding towards sale of Lagos Headquarters Survey Office” with the same orchestrated template like what transpired in Kano and the rest of the states of the federation.

The coalition, among others, accused Abdulganiyu of outright abuse of office with impunity as he runs the Office of the Surveyor General of the Federation as his personal estate.

The coalition thereby reiterated their call for his immediate sack for alleged gross administrative incompetence, financial recklessness, abuse of office and for illegally selling off government properties.

They added: “Since his assumption of office, there has been no record of meaningful impact, in spite of all the monies already expended, and with heavy integrity questions resting on his shoulder, which he has refused to clear.

In addition to these myriads of issues, his incessant foreign trips, which have become non-stop activities are a squander of taxpayers money. The penchant for this and the recklessness, which is against the foreign trip restriction made by Mr. President to all MDAs is sickening.

“He has traveled to Ethiopia, Germany, the United States and more only this year. Most recently, he travelled to South Korea on the 4th November, 2024 for nothing substantially connected to his office. Yet none of the staff of office of the Surveyor General of the Federation has gone for any capacity building or training for almost three years since Surveyor Adebomeyin Abdulganiyu assumed office as the Surveyor General of the Federation.”
