Udengs Eradiri, Bayelsa State governorship candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the last election last election has announced his resignation from the party.
Commodore Benjamin Nathus (retd), Eradiri’s running mate, also announced resignation from the Labour Party along with his principal.
Eradiri came third in the last governorship poll.
This was made known in Eradiri’s resignation letter dated December 8 and titled ‘Letter of Withdrawal as Labour Party Member’ and sent to the state chairman of the party in Yenagoa.
Peoples Daily reports that most of the local government chairmen of the party in Bayelsa joined Eradiri and Nathus to dump the party.
The former guber candidate said he took the decision to enable him to pursue his political career on a platform ready and prepared to provide the kind of leadership that Bayelsa deserves.
“We are consulting seriously and engaging all stakeholders to know the next political party to join. Our next party of interest will be such that will enable us to provide service to the people and mice Bayelsa forward”, he said.
