The Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution (IPCR) has felicitated Nigerians at Christmas urging them to prioritize safety, growth, wellbeing of the nation.
In a statement released Tuesday in Abuja, signed by the Director General of the Institute, Dr Joseph Ochogwu, it noted the Institute has extended warm Christmas greetings to Nigerians as they join the rest of the world in celebrating the festive season.
According to the statement, “IPCR urges Nigerians to make the safety, development, and wellbeing of the country a top priority.
“This call to action emphasizes the importance of putting the nation’s interests first and working together to build a better future for all
“By prioritizing the country’s wellbeing, Nigerians can help create a more peaceful and prosperous society. The IPCR’s message encourages citizens to take an active role in promoting peace and development, recognizing that these efforts are essential for the nation’s growth and progress.
“This heartfelt message serves as a poignant reminder of the importance of unity, peace, and collective responsibility, especially during the festive season.
“The IPCR encourages citizens to emulate the teachings of Jesus Christ, which emphasize peaceful coexistence.
“The Institute, which emphasizes that peaceful coexistence is essential for national development, stressed that Nigerians should strive to be ambassadors of peace wherever they go.
“In this Christmas message, IPCR charges Nigerians to keep the flag of unity high, noting that unity and peace are the hallmarks of a progressive nation.
“IPCR advises travelers to be cautious and take the message of peace back to their communities. It appeals to Nigerians to use the yuletide period to pray for the peace, unity, and progress of the nation” it noted.
It also highlights the importance of nation-building, stating that it was a collective responsibility.
