Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has presented Community Revolving Funds (CRF) cheques of $25,000 each to 10 selected communities in the state.
This came on the heels of Kaduna State being described as one of the best-performing states in the ACReSAL project.
The initiative is designed to support farmer groups to undertake investment in climate-smart rain-fed interventions.
According to the Commissioner, Ministry of Human Services and Social Development in Kaduna State, Hajiya Rabi Salisu also commissioned an Amphibious Excavator (Swamp Buggy), which will desilt river beds and clear drainages to mitigate against flood.
The events which had the Honorable Minister of Environment, Mal. Balarabe Abbas Lawal in attendance took place shortly after Governor Uba Sani hosted a delegation from the Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) Project led by the Task Team Lead, Dr. Joy Iganya Agene, and the National Project Coordinator, Malam Abdulhamid Umar.
In her remarks during the courtesy visit, the Task Team Lead, Dr. Iganya commended the Kaduna State Government for its commitment towards environmental sustainability.
This firm commitment, she stated, is evident in Kaduna State sustaining its position as one of the best-performing states in the ACReSAL project.
In his remarks, Governor Uba Sani said the Kaduna State Government remained committed to supporting initiatives that aligned with Kaduna’s environmental sustainability and Rural Transformation Agenda.
