Three members of a five man syndicate said to be responsible for several killings and kidnapping in Otukpo local government area of Benue State have been apprehended.
Chairman, Otukpo LGA Maxwell Ogiri who disclosed this on his Facebook page, saying the gallant security forces of the area chased and apprehended members of a five-man kidnapping gang that has been terrorizing Ogoli Ogboju comm unity in Otukpo Local Government Area and surrounding community on Sunday.
He gave the names of the criminals as Ibrahim Salleh, Ashimu and Abuh Umaru.
Confirming the information in a text message to newsmen, Maxwell said, “We learnt from intelligence report that they are a gang of five kidnappers. Three have been apprehended. Security agents are going after the remaining two and their collaborators.”
Police Public Relations Officer PPRO Catherine Anene said operation is ongoing in Otukpo, adding that she learnt some suspects have been arrested.
It should be noted that Otukpo, the headquarters of Idoma kingdom was recently a hotbed for kidnappers amidst several killings.
