Chairman of the Safe Schools Initiative, Alhaji Sani Abdullahi has denied the remittance of funds to the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), or the state government as grant by the federal government for the implementation SUBEB
The state SUBEB chairman, who spoke to Peoples Daily yesterday, declared that he was not aware of the fund set aside by the federal government as intervention fund by President Jonathan to stem high rate of school drop-outs.
Alhaji Sani Abdullahi said the state government has instituted a security system on female schools, in collaboration with cover agents that were stationed to serve as vigilantes.
He said the school heads are also aware of the system, even as he stressed that there are no reports of any security threats in the state female schools.
He said apart from common challenges of blown-off school roofing, collapsed building structures a result of rainstorm, they have been able to address the issue of out of school children”, he said.
