Governor Mai Mala Buni has revitalized 16 additional Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCCs) across Yobe State, in a major push to expand access to quality healthcare services, particularly in underserved rural areas.

The newly revitalized centres—comprising non-focal PHCCs—were strategically constructed, rehabilitated, and upgraded to bridge the healthcare gap between urban and rural communities.

According to the Executive Secretary of the Yobe State Primary Healthcare Board, Dr. Babagana Kundi Machina, praised the governor’s leadership, describing it as visionary and people-focused.

“Governor Buni’s leadership highlights the transformative impact of prioritizing healthcare in governance. These efforts will leave a lasting positive legacy for the people of Yobe.

“The revitalized PHCCs have significantly strengthened the state’s healthcare infrastructure and improved the delivery of timely and essential medical services.

“Futhermore, the initiative is in line with the Buni administration’s broader vision of making primary healthcare the foundation of Yobe’s health system. By ensuring that basic health services are both accessible and affordable, the government continues to advance its goal of achieving universal health coverage across the state.” Dr. Machina said.

Dr. Babagana added that, the Governor Buni’s commitment to improving the health sector has earned him widespread commendation from stakeholders, with many hailing his proactive, people-centered approach to governance.
