The traditional head of Gosa community, in Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), of the federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr. Wakili Istifanus, has called on the chairman of the Area Council, Micah Jiba, to provide the management of Gosa market with its Certificate of Occupancy (C of O), to enable traders carryout their business activities without fear in the market.
Istifanus, who made the call in a recent interview with Peoples Daily in his office at Gosa, pointed out that since the establishment of Gosa market there is still no allocation paper being issued by the administration of AMAC to guarantee the stay of the traders in the market.
He said all the structures being put in place by the traders in the market are considered illegal due to the government inability to confirm the site as a market.
He appealed to the AMAC leadership and FCT Administration to approve the current site where the Gosa market is located or relocate the market to its permanent site in the interest of the traders and attracting more revenue generation.
The chief, however, advised the traders to continue to co-operate with the government towards the smooth running of the market as it is.
Similarly, the Chief’s Special Adviser, Mr. Emmanuel Yakubu, pleaded with authorities of AMAC to take the leadership of the market along in the scheme things.
Yakubu called on the traders to continue paying their revenue, so as to avoid unnecessary molestation by the some government officials in the market.
