Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), has reiterated that its council has resolved to expand partnership and synergy inl deploying technology based approaches and global standards to improve the regulation of engineering education, training and practices.

The president of COREN Prof. Sadiq Abubakar said in seeking response to the new reality, COREN has found itself in an ever changing ecosystem and evolving economy.

Engr. Abubukar stated this yesterday at the 33rd COREN assembly yesterday in Abuja , with the theme; “ Advancing quality engineering services and business in Nigeria – professional compliance and Remuneration “.

He said this year’s theme drives to advance the policy of the federal government in areas of Technical and Vocational Education and Training

(TVET) and innovation under the Renewed Hope Agenda .

He explained that lack of standardization , harmonization, flexibility and consensus on engineering, motivation and competitiveness of professionals leading to erosion and career shift by talents resulting in loss of critical mass skilled, confident and proficient work force to drive the much desired technological revolution and mainstream in global knowledge economy.

The president also called on key actors in the private and public sectors especially the federal government, captains of industry and others to appreciate the strategic responsibility and tasks placed on COREN in the regulations of engineering practices in Nigeria and extend support to empower the council to discharge its mandate to Nigeria .
