Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on Monday visited former Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, following an attack on his convoy in Birnin Kebbi.
Eyewitnesses said the incident occurred near the African Democratic Congress, (ADC), secretariat, where about 10 vehicles were damaged and several supporters injured.
Malami alleged the attack was politically motivated, saying his convoy was targeted by thugs armed with weapons and stones.
Atiku condemned the incident, warning of rising political violence across the country.
“This trend is dangerous. Security agencies and political leaders must take urgent steps to stop it,” he said.
