Acting president of the Nigeria football federation (NFF), Mike Umeh has revealed that they are working hard towards making a deal happen with Coach Stephen Keshi.
Umeh, who only assumed leadership of Nigerian football last Thursday following the sacking of Aminu Maigari as president of the NFF, says the NFF are favourably disposed to having Keshi continue as the Super Eagles manager.
“We are really working towards having Keshi remain as the Super Eagles coach, that is what we hope for,” he said.
The NFF have appointed a three-man committee set to open contract talks with Keshi and Umeh says they hope the issue will be thrashed as soon as possible.
“We have appointed a committee to work towards that and we hope to receive their recommendation in the shortest possible time, after which we hope to make contact with him (Keshi).
The Super Eagles will play their first competitive game since losing 2-0 to France at the round of 16 of the world cup in Brazil in September.
