The Kaduna State Government has officially designated the last Saturday of every month as Statewide Sanitation Day, launching a revitalized cleanup campaign aimed at enhancing public health, improving hygiene, and addressing environmental threats throughout the state.
In a statement from the Commissioner for Information, Malam Ahmed Maiyaki, the first sanitation exercise is scheduled for Saturday, 29 November 2025, from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
The Commissioner for Environment, Hon. Abubakar Buba, described the initiative as a significant step toward creating cleaner, safer, and healthier communities.
He urged community leaders, local councils, civil society groups, and other stakeholders to mobilize residents and encourage them to take ownership of their surroundings.
“A clean environment means a safer, healthier Kaduna State. We urge every resident to come out and participate,” Buba emphasized.
