In a decisive move that signals renewed momentum in infrastructure delivery, Governor Uba Sani has officially resumed major road construction projects in Rigasa, following the successful settlement of compensation to affected residents. Emotions reportedly ran high as community leaders were seen shedding teras of joy

“This development brings relief and excitement to Rigasa communities, where work had previously slowed amid compensation concerns”, a pharmacist in the community, Awwal Ibrahim Alhassan told newsmen.

With all outstanding issues now resolved, contractors have returned to site, heavy equipment is back in motion, and long-awaited reconstruction efforts are gathering speed.

Managing he Director of KADRA, Dr. Abdullahi Baba Ahmed explained that the resumption is a demonstration of the state government’s commitment to due process, fairness, and people-centered development—ensuring that impacted property owners are duly compensated before project continuation.

Residents say the move has restored confidence and clears the path for accelerated transformation of one of Kaduna’s busiest urban corridors.

The Rigasa roads project is considered strategic, expected to ease traffic congestion, boost commercial activities, and improve connectivity within Kaduna metropolis.

“Beyond mobility, the construction is projected to stimulate local businesses, create jobs, and enhance property values in the area” Commissioner of Information Ahmed Maiyaki, said in reaction to the development.

A cross-section of Kaduna State Government officials, in response to questions from newsmen have variously reaffirmed that infrastructure renewal remains a top priority, promising timely completion and strict adherence to quality standards.
