President Bola Tinubu has said that his administration would not be deterred by the criticisms coming from opposition political parties.

Tinubu while addressing the National Convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Friday night said his administration is doing its best to reposition the country on the path of economic recovery and development.

“It’s not easy to satisfy everyone, especially the opposition politicians who are always looking for what to criticize the government, but we are not going to be deterred by their criticisms”.

The President also said he believes in credible opposition because that is how nations grow and achieve greatness.

On the much criticized amended Electoral Act, the President argued that the National Assembly took pain to deliver the document in the most acceptable standard.

“It’s a public knowledge that the process that led to the amendment of the Electoral Act passed through the scrutiny of the National Assembly, including public hearings before it was adopted.

“Our commitment is to conduct credible elections and to unite the country.
When we took over in 2023, we made a commitment to a Renewed Hope Agenda.

“We knew it the road was going to be tough, but we know that no nation grows without trials and challenges. Since assuming office, our government has remained focused on delivering to Nigerian people”.

He added that the country was on the path of growth and development and the issue of electricity would be addressed promptly.

“Today, I can assure you that we are on the right path. Our oil and gas sector is doing well to the tune of over 400%.

“The problem of electricity is being paid attention to and we are hoping to increase what we currently have with another 1,500 megawatts”.

To the young people, Tinubu recognized them as the future of to the country and promised to provide a future that will be beneficial to them.

To the women in Nigeria, the President told them that their stability is essential, adding that there will be a decisive move to improve the presence of women in public service.

Before the election, the Congress adopted consensus as the mode of voting at the convention.

APC also adopted the reports of the ward, LGAs, state and zonal congresses of the party.

Appointees of the President also has time to reel out their achievements in the past three years and what to expect going forward.

Tinubu also paid special tribute to former President Muhammadu Buhari who died just one year after leaving office.

The President also appreciated the Chairman of the National Convention Planning Committee and former Katsina state governor, Alhaji Bello Masari.
