Dr. Odia also vhighlighted the agency’s fiscal efficiency, observing that the FHIS has managed to maintain competitive standards in capitation and fee-for-service payments.

“The FCT Health Insurance Scheme, despite having a far lower pool than the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), is one of the few schemes that is almost matching the NHIA in terms of capitation and fee-for-service amounts. One can only imagine how far they will go once their enabling law is signed,” Dr. Odia remarked.

In her acceptance speech, Dr. Belgore expressed deep gratitude to the ANPMP and emphasized that the recognition was the result of a collective effort.

She insisted that the milestones recorded by the agency were not a solo endeavor but the product of a dedicated team.

”I cannot take all the credit here alone, because the successes you see at the FCT Health Insurance Scheme are driven by the strong men and women behind the scenes who have made us achieve this tremendous progress,” Dr. Belgore stated.

She further extended her appreciation to the leadership overseeing the health sector, specifically recognizing the Mandate Secretary of the Health Services and Environment Secretariat, Dr. Dolapo Fasawe, and the immediate past Permanent Secretary of the HSES, Dr. Baba-gana Adam, for their unwavering support over the past two years.
