APC Leaders Pass Vote of No Confidence on Kaduna Lawmaker Naziru Abubakar(Video)

Date:

A wave of discontent has swept through Kawo Constituency in Kaduna State, as party leaders and key stakeholders have passed a vote of no confidence on their representative in the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Hon Naziru Sanusi Abubakar.

The decision was reached at the end of a constituency stakeholders’ meeting attended by ward leaders, party officials, youth representatives, and community influencers across the five wards that make up Kawo constituency.

In a communiqué issued after the meeting, the stakeholders accused the lawmaker of “embarrassing lack of accessibility,” alleging that he has failed to maintain meaningful contact with constituents since assuming office nearly three years ago.

They further faulted him for what they described as a lack of visible impact in human capital development and community-driven projects.

“The people of Kawo can no longer continue with a representative who is largely absent and disconnected from the needs of his constituents,” one of the leaders abd APC Chairman for Kawo Ward, Hon Nuhu Manga has said, during the deliberations.

Participants at the meeting stressed that beyond legislative duties, effective representation requires constant engagement, empowerment initiatives, and strategic interventions to uplift communities—areas they claimed he has since neglected.

They also expressed frustration over the absence of constituency-based programmes, noting that none of the five wards has benefitted from sustainable development initiatives or empowerment schemes under the lawmaker’s tenure.

The stakeholders warned that the vote of no confidence in Hon Naziru Abubakar signals a loss of political goodwill and could have far-reaching consequences ahead of future electoral cycles if urgent steps are not taken to address these growing concerns.

Observers say the development reflects growing grassroots assertiveness, where constituents are increasingly demanding accountability and tangible dividends of democracy from elected officials.

As of the time of filing this report, the embattled lawmaker had yet to publicly respond to the allegations.
