Reps Aspirant confronts growing hardship during Bwari Ward tour

​As the race for the AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency seat intensifies, aspirant Hon. Sarah Ivie Adidi has concluded a grueling ten-ward tour of Bwari Area Council, where the primary takeaway was not just political support, but a sobering look at the mounting hardships facing local residents.

​While the tour served to consolidate her grassroots movement, Adidi used the final leg of the journey—spanning Ushafa, Bwari Central, Kuduru, Kubwa, Usuma, Byazhin, and Dutse Alhaji—to lament the deteriorating living conditions of her constituents.

​Moving away from the traditional style of summoning leaders to central hubs, Adidi took her campaign directly to the doorsteps of the people. This approach allowed her to hear firsthand accounts of the economic and social struggles currently gripping the FCT.

​”This tour has allowed me to truly listen to the people and understand their realities firsthand.
“Leadership must begin with listening and, where possible, taking immediate action,” she stated.

​The tour was characterized by a “swift response” strategy, where Adidi attempted to alleviate some of the burdens identified during her interactions.

​In Shere Ward, she immediately funded the repair and repainting of the APC office roof.

Similarly, in Kuduru Ward, she took the unprecedented step of paying two years’ rent for the party’s ward office to ensure a stable base for local political activity.

Recognizing the need for social outlets amidst economic strain, she responded to appeals from Igu community youths by donating footballs to support a local tournament, aiming to foster community spirit through sports.

​The conclusion of the tour in her home ward of Dutse Alhaji saw a massive turnout of women’s groups and youth leaders.

For many residents, Adidi’s willingness to walk through their communities was a sign of humility that contrasted with the perceived distance of the political elite.
