As political activities gather momentum ahead of the 2027 General Elections, a group, Yobe South All Progressives Congress Christian Forum for Inclusive Governance for collective Progress and development has rallied support for the consensus candidate for Yobe Governorship seat.
The Convener of the Forum, Omale Chimugu disclosed this at a one-day summit in Potiskum the headquarters of Potiskum local government area of the state, said, the forum recognized the transformative leadership of Governor Mai Mala Buni as unanimously agreed to anoint the consensus candidate for continuity.
“We therefore convene today’s meeting not merely as a political stakeholders, but as partners in the collective destiny of Yobe state, united by a shared vision of equity, inclusion, peace, and sustainable development”
“This summit serves as a platform to deepen awareness on inclusive governance, strengthen democratic participation, and promote unity among all segments of society regardless of tribe, religion or political background,”
“We believe that true development can only thrive where every citizen feels represented, respected and carried along in governance”
“We affirm our total support and loyalty to the All-Progressives Congress (APC) as the leading platform for democratic development and progressive governance in Yobe state” he said.
Some of the participants of the summit, Emmanuel Ayuba Degubi, the Focal Person to Governor Mai Mala Buni on Christian Pilgrimage asked the Christian faithful to support the consensus candidate saying under Governor Mai Mala Buni Christians have benefitted political appointments among others.
Other stakeholders charge them to obtain their Voters Card so as to exercise their franchise during and after the 2027 general elections.
