Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, has signaled that the nation’s capital is ready for a massive infrastructure commissioning showcase to mark President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s third year in office.
Following a high-level inspection tour on Monday, Wike declared that several multi-billion naira projects have reached the “home stretch,” praising the synergy between the government and top-tier contractors in delivering quality infrastructure.
The Minister’s visit served as a final progress check on critical sites earmarked for the Presidential anniversary.
From housing infrastructure to strategic bridge links, Wike noted that the FCT is transforming into a construction success story.
At the Renewed Hope Estate in Karsana, the finish line is in sight, with only 500 meters of asphalt work remain before the estate’s internal road network is fully sealed.
Contractor Lubricks has officially committed to delivering a fully lit environment, with streetlight installations scheduled for completion by the end of the current month.
The Minister gave a “thumbs up” to the Body of Benchers road project, which is now officially completed.
The focus has shifted to final aesthetics and security lighting.
“The road is already completed. The contractor, CCECC, has promised that in the next 10 days, the streetlights will be fully functional.
“We are very happy with what we’ve confirmed today,” Wike noted.
In what is being described as a “wonderful” team effort, the Tungan Madaki bridge has been successfully launched.
Beyond the original scope, Wike revealed that work has already begun on a newly directed extension linking the area to Zuba, further opening up the FCT’s transport corridors.
