Abdulmumini Jibrin Kofa has emerged victorious in the primary election for the Bebeji/Kiru Federal Constituency House of Representatives seat following intense internal disagreements within the party ahead of the contest.
The affirmation exercise, held in the Bebeji/Kiru Federal Constituency in Kano State, drew a large turnout of supporters as the lawmaker moved closer to securing a fifth term in the National Assembly.
The event, which featured a political rally, saw party supporters openly declaring support for Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Abba Kabir Yusuf, while calling for the continuation of their administrations.
Addressing supporters after the exercise, Kofa expressed appreciation for the confidence reposed in him by the people of the constituency and pledged not to disappoint them.
The lawmaker pointed to some of his achievements in office, noting that he was able to deliver despite not completing all his previous terms due to political circumstances.
He also commended the leadership of President Tinubu and Governor Yusuf, saying their administrations were opening a new phase of development and progress for Nigeria, northern Nigeria and Kano State.
Kofa further appealed to other aspirants who participated in the contest to close ranks and work together in the interest of the party, insisting that the outcome of the primary should be seen as a collective victory for the constituency rather than an individual triumph.
