Crisis has erupted within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State after House of Representatives aspirant Oluremi Oluwalogbon-Odunsi rejected the outcome of the party’s Kosofe Federal Constituency primary election.
The aspirant insisted that no valid election took place during the exercise conducted on Saturday, May 16, 2026, describing the results currently being circulated as illegitimate.
In a statement issued after the primary, Oluwalogbon-Odunsi argued that the figures and declarations being announced did not emerge from any recognised voting process.
She further alleged that both Adele Osinowo and incumbent lawmaker Khafilat Ogbara separately declared themselves winners of the contest.
According to her, the development amounted to a breach of the guidelines laid down by the APC for the conduct of primary elections.
The aspirant maintained that no actual voting exercise was held in the constituency and warned that recognising the disputed results would undermine the integrity and credibility of the party’s internal democratic process.
She called on the APC leadership and stakeholders to urgently intervene and investigate the circumstances surrounding the declarations in order to protect the party’s reputation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Oluwalogbon-Odunsi disclosed that she had already submitted a formal petition and appeal to the appropriate party authorities for consideration, expressing confidence that the leadership of the party would take corrective steps after reviewing the matter.
She also appealed to APC officials at both the state and national levels to ensure a transparent review process capable of restoring confidence among aspirants, delegates and party members in the constituency.
The aspirant, however, reaffirmed her commitment to the APC and said her action was aimed at strengthening democratic values within the party rather than creating division.
The APC had not officially reacted to the allegations as of the time the report was filed.
