Kaumi Zulum, younger brother of Babagana Zulum, has emerged as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Dikwa/Konduga/Mafa Federal Constituency seat ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The result was announced on Sunday in Maiduguri by the chairman of the APC Primary Election Committee and returning officer, Jones Erue, who disclosed that Kaumi Zulum emerged unopposed.
The APC also concluded primaries in several other federal constituencies across Borno State, with many candidates reportedly emerging through consensus arrangements.
Fati Alkali secured the party’s ticket for Mobbar/Guzamala/Abadam/Kukawa Federal Constituency, while Usman Zannah emerged candidate for Magumeri/Kaga/Gubio Federal Constituency.
Similarly, Ahmed Jaha retained the APC ticket for Gwoza/Chibok/Damboa Federal Constituency, while Satomi Ahmed was returned as candidate for Jere Federal Constituency.
In the Maiduguri Metropolitan Council Federal Constituency contest, Abdulkadir Rahis emerged victorious after polling 38,576 votes.
Also, Mustapha Abdullahi secured the APC ticket for Bama/Ngala/Kala Balge Federal Constituency with 20,509 votes.
However, the primary election for Askira/Uba/Hawul Federal Constituency was declared inconclusive following a petition lodged by aspirant Audu Zali.
According to Erue, the committee would await the outcome of the appeal process before taking a final decision on the disputed primary.
He added that the APC primaries were conducted peacefully in nine out of the 10 federal constituencies in the state.
