The youth wing of the Nigeria Democratic Congress has commended the party leadership for extending the deadline for the sale and processing of expression of interest and nomination forms ahead of the party’s electoral activities.

In a press release issued on Tuesday under the banner of the NDC Youth Agenda (NDC-YA), the group described the decision as a demonstration of inclusive and people-oriented leadership, particularly for young aspirants seeking elective positions.

The statement noted that the extension would provide relief for many youths who were struggling to raise funds needed to obtain nomination forms, adding that the move reflected the party leadership’s commitment to fairness and wider participation.

According to the group, the decision by the party leadership showed responsiveness to appeals from intending aspirants across the country and reinforced confidence in the party’s democratic process.

The youth wing expressed appreciation to the party’s National Leader, Henry Seriake Dickson, the National Chairman, Moses Cleopas, and other party executives for what it described as their efforts toward ensuring a smooth nomination process.

The group further urged Nigerian youths to identify with the party and participate actively in its activities, saying the NDC remained committed to accommodating and empowering young people in national politics.

The statement was signed by the Founding Coordinator of NDC-YA, Comrade Preye J. Ketebu-Brown.
