Sokoto Hisbah Arrests 17 Suspects in Raid on Alleged Immorality Hotspots

The Sokoto State Hisbah Board has arrested 17 suspects during a coordinated raid on areas allegedly known for immoral activities within Sokoto metropolis.

The operation, carried out on Sunday, targeted locations including Minannata, Rijiyar Shehu, Majema, Sokoto Cinema and the Mabera district.

The raid was led by the Acting Commander of the Sokoto State Hisbah Board and Director of Da’awah, Imam Sirajo Abubakar, under an initiative tagged “Operation Tsaftace Birnin Shehu.”

According to the board, the exercise forms part of ongoing efforts to promote morality, maintain social order and curb activities considered contrary to public decency and religious teachings.

The board stated that the operation was aimed at ensuring a cleaner and more disciplined society, stressing that similar exercises would continue across the state.

It also reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining peace, order and moral standards in Sokoto State.
