
Katsina Govt Declares Friday Work-Free Day
The Katsina State Government has declared Friday, 29th May, 2026, as a work-free day for all public sector workers and employees to enable them fully celebrate the Ed-Elkabir festival.
The government said that the decision was made in recognition of the importance of the Ed-Elkabir celebration to the people of the state and to allow workers the opportunity to commemorate this significant occasion with their families and loved ones.
Already the Federal Government has declared Wednesday 27th and Thursday 28th May, 2026 as public holiday for the Ed-e-kabir festivities.
Governor Dikko Umaru Radda wished all residents a joyful and fulfilling celebration and encourages everyone to observe all necessary safety guidelines during the festivities.
Governor Radda further urged the people of the state to use the opportunity of the sacred days to pray fervently for peace to reign in the state and the nation at large.
The Government said it remains committed to the welfare of its workforce and the well-being of all citizens.
