Uba Sani signs 3 landmark laws to transform energy, agric, climate in Kaduna

The Kaduna State Government has announced a major governance milestone following the signing of three strategic bills into law by Governor Senator Uba Sani.
The new legislations are designed to accelerate economic growth, strengthen public institutions, and promote sustainable subnational development.
In a statement released by the Honorable Commissioner for Information and Culture, Malam Ahmed Maiyaki, the government revealed that the newly enacted laws establish a broad framework to completely revolutionize the state’s energy, agricultural, and environmental sectors.
Dr. Mustapha Musa, Deputy Chief of Staff (Legal and Legislative Matters) to the Governor, lauded the legal reforms as some of the most transformative in Kaduna’s history, noting their focus on expanding energy access, boosting food production, and enhancing climate resilience.
Breakdown of the 3 Landmark Laws
The three newly signed pieces of legislation introduce distinct institutional overhauls across the state:
Malam Ahmed Maiyaki emphasized that these legislations reflect Governor Uba Sani’s hands-on vision of building long-lasting foundations for a highly competitive and prosperous Kaduna State.
By decentralizing the power sector, securing dedicated funding for rural farmers, and creating a framework for climate-responsive policies, the state aims to attract significant private investment and boost job creation.
According to the state command, these structural reforms set up the exact institutional machinery required to sustainably elevate living standards, eradicate food insecurity, and permanently position Kaduna as a national leader in innovative governance.
