President Bola Tinubu has urged INEC, security agencies, and political parties to ensure the upcoming elections in Ekiti and Osun States are peaceful and credible.
Speaking on Nigeria’s 27 years of unbroken democracy, Tinubu said “democracy fails when citizens doubt the process.” He called the National Assembly, Judiciary, Press, and Civil Society the “guardrails of our republic” and told them to keep criticising government.
“Today, we celebrate democracy and the enduring Nigerian spirit,” he said. “Our democracy is not perfect, but it is ours, and we must continue to defend and strengthen it.”
