The African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate in Kaduna State, Isa Ashiru Kudan, has disclosed that he held a meeting with former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai, as the party intensifies preparations for the 2027 governorship election.
Ashiru revealed the meeting in a post on his verified Facebook page on Tuesday, describing their discussions as productive and saying they had strengthened the party’s resolve to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State.
According to him, the ADC is fully prepared to wrest power from the APC administration, which he accused of failing to meet the expectations of the people of the state.
Ashiru said the party was determined to end what he described as hardship and poor governance, expressing confidence that unity, courage and public support would enable the ADC to restore justice, development and dignity in Kaduna.
The meeting came shortly after Ashiru received Bello El-Rufai, the son of the former governor and member representing Kaduna North Federal Constituency.
Meanwhile, El-Rufai remains under investigation by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) over allegations of corrupt practices during his tenure as Kaduna State governor, allegations he has consistently denied.
