Tambuwal’s ally dumps ADC, meets Tinubu

From Bashir Rabe Mani in Sokoto
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has met with Mallam Sa’idu Umar Ubandoma, a strong ally of a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal.
Ubandoma, who was also the 2023 Sokoto State governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, recently defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Ubandoma was presented to the President by the leader of the APC in Sokoto State, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, at the Presidential Villa, Asokoro, Abuja.
Tinubu expressed delight over Ubandoma’s return to the party and assured him of his support and full integration into the APC.
The meeting was described as cordial and productive, with discussions centred on strengthening the party and consolidating its progress.
Tinubu encouraged Ubandoma to sustain his close working relationship with Senator Wamakko and the Governor of Sokoto State, Dr. Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto.
Ubandoma was a former Commissioner for Finance, and ex-Secretary to Sokoto State Government under the administration of Tambuwal.
