Relief has come for the 41 pioneer 300-level MBBS students of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai (IBBUL), as they relocate to Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, to advance their medical programs without delay.
The Vice-Chancellor of IBBUL, Professor Mohammed Hadi Sulaiman, attributed the successful academic intervention to the unwavering support of the Niger State Governor and University Visitor, Mohammed Umar Bago, alongside the Federal Ministry of Education and the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
Prof. Sulaiman lauded ABU Zaria’s leadership, including Vice-Chancellor Professor Adamu Ahmed and Medical College Provost Professor Dahiru, for opening their doors to the students for intensive preparation ahead of their September professional exams.
The VC added that infrastructure developments are being aggressively pushed at home, with IBBUL’s temporary teaching hospital slated for completion by September 2026 to institutionalize full in-house clinical training moving forward.
