Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has commissioned six road projects in Jaba Local Government Area, marking the end of more than two decades of road infrastructure neglect and fulfilling a commitment he made during the groundbreaking ceremony in September 2025.
The completed projects include five township roads in Kwoi—Audu Tilo Road, Sabon Gari Road, Doctor Sani Road, Hospital Road, and Kpop Ham Palace Road—as well as the strategic Kwoi–Gora Road.
Speaking during the inauguration ceremony on Tuesday, Governor Sani said the completion of the projects demonstrates his administration’s commitment to delivering on its promises to the people.
He recalled assuring residents during the groundbreaking ceremony that the projects would be completed, adding that the successful delivery of the roads reflects his government’s resolve to build trust through tangible development.
According to the governor, nothing strengthens the relationship between government and citizens more than fulfilling commitments made to the people.
Governor Sani noted that Jaba Local Government Area had not witnessed the construction of a completed kilometre of road in over 20 years, describing the situation as part of a wider imbalance that affected 12 local government areas in Kaduna State.
He said the neglect was inconsistent with the principles of fairness, equity, and inclusive development, stressing that his administration is committed to correcting the imbalance through equitable infrastructure distribution across the state.
The governor disclosed that his administration has initiated about 150 road projects spanning more than 1,355 kilometres across Kaduna State’s 23 local government areas, with the majority of the projects already completed.
He explained that the projects represent more than physical infrastructure, describing them as evidence of the government’s determination to ensure that every community benefits from democratic governance regardless of location.
Governor Sani further stated that governance under his administration is guided by fairness rather than geography, politics, or identity, with public investments targeted at improving the lives of all residents.
Highlighting the importance of the newly commissioned roads, he described the Kwoi township roads and the Kwoi–Gora Road as strategic investments that will enhance mobility, improve access to schools and healthcare facilities, stimulate commercial activities, and ease the transportation of agricultural produce.
The governor also recalled that the Kwoi–Gora Road had long posed significant challenges to residents, particularly during the rainy season when erosion and poor road conditions often isolated communities and increased transportation costs.
He expressed confidence that the reconstructed road would strengthen economic and social activities, improve emergency response, facilitate agricultural transportation, and attract greater investment opportunities to Jaba Local Government Area.
The commissioning forms part of the Kaduna State Government’s ongoing infrastructure development programme aimed at expanding road networks and improving connectivity across the state.
