Police Service Commission Releases Names of Successful Applicants for 50,000 Nigeria Police Constable Recruitment

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has released the names of successful applicants in the ongoing recruitment of 50,000 Police Constables into the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).

The announcement follows the successful completion of what the Commission described as a comprehensive, transparent, inclusive and merit-based recruitment exercise conducted in collaboration with key stakeholders, including the Nigeria Police Force, the Federal Character Commission, the Ministry of Police Affairs, State Career and Counselling Departments, and the Police Community Relations Committee.

According to a statement issued on Wednesday by the Head of Protocol and Public Relations of the PSC, Torty Njoku Kalu, candidates who participated in the recently concluded written examination are advised to log in to the official recruitment portal to check their application status. The portal becomes accessible from 12:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 16, 2026.

The Commission also disclosed that successful applicants will receive notifications through the email addresses and phone numbers submitted during the application process.

Successful candidates are expected to report to their designated Police Training Institutions on dates and times that will be communicated later for medical examinations and documentation.

The PSC warned that candidates who fail to report within the stipulated period will be deemed to have declined the offer of admission. It added that applicants who fail the mandatory medical examination conducted by the Nigeria Police Medical Team upon resumption at the training institutions will be declared medically unfit and withdrawn from the exercise.

Candidates are required to report with their training call-up slips, National Identification Number (NIN) slips, Bank Verification Number (BVN) slips, original copies and photocopies of their academic credentials, as well as other required documents and items listed on the recruitment portal.

The Chairman of the Police Service Commission, retired Deputy Inspector-General of Police Hashimu Salihu Argungu, expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving the recruitment of 50,000 Police Constables as part of efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s security architecture.

Argungu urged the successful candidates to regard their recruitment as a call to national service and to discharge their duties with professionalism, integrity and commitment to safeguarding lives and property across the country.

The recruitment exercise forms part of the Federal Government’s broader efforts to improve police manpower and enhance internal security nationwide.
