Families of victims say they are still waiting for answers about the deadly jet crash

Date:

All praise is for Allah Who gave us life after causing us to die, and to Him is the return.

That is the first du’a of a believer when he wakes up. It sets the tone for everything else. Praise upon praise. Gratitude upon gratitude. Forgiveness upon forgiveness. Grace upon grace. Let’s break it down:

  1. Every Breath Is Blessing

Waking up is not automatic. “He gave us life after causing us to die” refers to sleep as a mini-death.

Every morning is a new contract with Allah, the Most Merciful. A new chance to worship, to repent, to do good.

When you start with Alhamdulillah, you’re telling Allah, the Most High: “I see Your favour in the most basic thing – being alive.”

And Allah (SWT) promises: “If you are grateful, I will surely increase you.” – Qur’an 14:7

  1. Every Trial Is Lesson

Life will bring both ease and hardship. But a heart of gratitude doesn’t ask “Why me?”

It asks “What is Allah teaching me?

– In hardship: It’s a purification, expiation of sins, a raising of ranks

– In blessings: It’s a test of thankfulness and a reason to draw closer to Allah

The Prophet (SAW) said: “Amazing is the affair of the believer, for there is good for him in every matter.” We say: “Alhamdulillah” in both joy and pain because both come from the Most Merciful.

  1. Every Moment Is Gift from Allah

Time is the only thing we can never get back. When we say “Forgiveness upon forgiveness. Grace upon grace”, we acknowledge two truths:

  1. We are weak – “Forgive us, O Allah, the Most Forgiving for our shortcomings.” We sin, we forget, we fall short.
  2. Allah is infinite – “Shower us with Your infinite grace in this life and the next.” His mercy outruns His anger.

Grace means getting what we don’t deserve. And Allah’s grace is in the air we breathe, the food we eat, the family we have, and the chance to repent before we die.

  1. The Power of “Alhamdulillah” on the Tongue

Repeating Alhamdulillah does three things:

  1. It changes your perspective – You stop chasing what you lack and start seeing what you have
  2. It brings contentment – “May Allah keep our hearts content with His decree.” Ridha with Qadr is peace
  3. It invites more blessings – Dhikr attracts barakah. An ungrateful heart is always empty, and a grateful heart is always full.

That’s why we end with Aameen – asking Allah to make Dhikr and contentment our default state.

  1. Practical Ways to Live this Statement Daily
  2. Start the day with the waking du’a. First words: Alhamdulillah
  3. Turn complaints into Alhamdulillah throughtout the day. Traffic? Alhamdulillah, I have a car. Delay? Alhamdulillah, Allah is writing something better.
  4. Before sleep in the night, count three blessings and say Alhamdulillah for each
  5. Always include Praise, Istighfar, and Request in every Du’a. “Praise, Forgiveness, Grace

Always remember: A grateful heart is a protected heart. Shaytan’s promise was: “You will not find most of them grateful.” – Qur’an 7:17

So, when we choose gratitude, we are choosing to defeat that plan.

Let our lives be a continuous Alhamdulillah, for the seen and unseen. For the given and the withheld. For this life and the next. Alhamdulillah. Alhamdulillah. Alhamdulillah.

May Allah keep our tongues busy with His remembrance and our hearts content with His decree. Amin ya Hayyu ya Qayyum.

Narrated Abu Hurairah (R.A):

The Messenger of Allah (SAW), said: Be eager for what benefits you, seek help from Allah, and do not be frustrated. If something befalls you, then do not say: If only I had done something else! Rather say: Allah (SWT) has decreed what He wills. Verily, the phrase ‘if only’ opens the way for the work of Satan. Sahīh Muslim 2664

Abu Hurairah (R.A) also narrates: The Messenger of Allah (SAW), said: Those in solitude have raced ahead. They said, “O Messenger of Allah, who are those in solitude?” The Prophet (SAW) said: They are men and women who remember Allah often. Sahīh Muslim 2676

Almighty Allah said: “Indeed, Allah is ever, over you an Observer.” An-Nisaa 4 :1

The basis of mindfulness is the knowledge that Allah, the All-Seeing, All Knowing is watching over us at every moment, seeing our deeds, knowing our feelings, and hearing our innermost thoughts. It is the believer’s realization of Allah’s beautiful name ‘the Watchful’ (Al-Raqib). Persistence in this knowledge is ‘mindfulness’ of one’s Lord. This is the origin of every virtue.
