Contentment (Ridā) — The Peak of Gratitude

Date:

Contentment (ridā) is the highest form of gratitude. It is when the heart becomes so trusting, so grateful, and so surrendered to Allah (SWT), that it is pleased with whatever He chooses:
Pleased with His decree, Pleased with His timing, Pleased with His wisdom, Pleased with what He gives, and Pleased with what He withholds.
Ridā does not mean liking every hardship — it means trusting the One who decreed it. A heart that reaches this level lives in a state of serenity that nothing in the World can shake.
(a) Allah Is Pleased with the Believers Who Are Pleased with Him. “Allah is pleased with them, and they are pleased with Him.” Mutual pleasure — the highest spiritual station.
(b) Contentment Brings Peace to the Hear. “No disaster strikes except by the permission of Allah.”
Knowing this brings calm acceptance, not resentment.
(c) The Prophet’s Teaching on Deep Contentment. The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: “He has tasted the sweetness of faith — the one who is pleased with Allah as his Lord.” Sweetness of faith is tied to contentment with Allah.
O Allah! Grant us a contented heart, a soul at peace, and keep us firm upon trusting Your wisdom in everything You decree. Culled
