Commissioner for Nomadic and Pastoral Affairs, Umar Sande Rebe, maintained there is no bandits camp in Niger state, as they only come from the neighbouring state for a hit and run strategy,
He made the disclosure during a joint press briefing by Ministries, Department and Agencies held in Minna, stressing that from next year animal moving from one state to another will not be allowed to enter Niger state without obtaining a permit, to curtail cases of cattle rustling and other problems.
In his remarks Commissioner of Land and Survey, Barrister Ahmadu Bello Agwara explained that Governor Mohammed Umar Bago has signed over one thousand C of O while the process of obtaining it has been made easy and seamless, while saying that the establishment of the Fct_ Niger Boundary Commission had forced land grabbers to run away from the area.
Similarly, the Commissioner of Mineral Resources Muhammad Qasim Danjuma, presented by his Permanent Secretary, Dr Abubakar Abubakar said to address the problems of illegal mining, insecurity, protect the environment and mining host communities a bill has bill forwarded to the Niger State House of Assembly which has passed the second reading,
Commissioner of Police CP in charge of Niger state, Adamu Abdullahi Elleman represented by the Police Public Relations Officer Niger state Command, Superintendent of Police Wasi’u Abiodun explained that the CP has directed for the establishment of Farmers Herders committee in all the twenty five Local Government Areas in Chairmen of Local Governments, traditional rulers and security agencies among others served as member of committee, as a proactive measure to address such problems.
The Chief host and Niger state Commissioner of Information and Orientation, Mr Obed Nuhu Nana, added that the gathering is not a forum for God overnment to speak but to dialogue and correct misconceptions.
He noted that government policies and programmes achieved greater impact when it’s people received feed backs, towards achieving the goals of transparency, accountability and inclusiveness.
