The Kaduna State Government has commenced the 2026 civil service examination to confirm the appointments of 3,000 civil servants
across ministries, departments, and local government areas of the state.
The exam opened on Wednesday at the ICT Center of Kaduna State University, Main Campus, Kaduna. It is being conducted by the Office of the Head of Service in partnership with Kumesh Integrated Concept Ltd.
Speaking at the center, the Head of Service, Mrs. Jummai Bako, said the exam is vital for newly hired civil servants seeking confirmation into the state’s permanent service.
“Once a civil servant is confirmed, they become eligible for leave of absence, transfer of service, and even in-service training.
“That is why it is very important for every civil servant recruited into Kaduna State Government service to take the CAC exams for confirmation of appointment,” Bako stated.
She explained that the exam covers areas directly related to civil servants’ daily work, including administrative, financial, legal, and medical subjects, as well as general knowledge of issues affecting the state and the country.
According to her, the questions are divided into about five sections representing different departments and cadres, including administrative, legal, and medical personnel.
“The exam includes staff from ministries, departments, and the 23 local government areas, excluding tertiary institutions,” she added.
Bako revealed that candidates who fail the exam will have a second chance in 2027, but urged them to do their best, as confirmation offers several benefits.
She also praised Governor Uba Sani for funding the exam and for his commitment to workers’ welfare, including salary adjustments and timely payments.
“His Excellency has done a lot for civil servants. On behalf of the civil servants, I promise that we will continue to do our best in implementing government policies because civil servants are the engine of every government,” she stated.
