Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party has been declared the winner of the 2026 Osun State governorship election after defeating the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, by 66,252 votes.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Adeleke the winner after the collation of results from the 30 local government areas of the state.
Adeleke polled 511,067 votes, while Oyebamiji secured 444,815 votes.
The margin of victory stood at 66,252 votes.
INEC announced that 985,079 votes were valid, while 20,721 votes were rejected during the election.
The result gives Adeleke a second term in office, extending his tenure as governor of Osun State for another four years.
Adeleke’s victory comes four years after he defeated the then-incumbent governor, Gboyega Oyetola, in the 2022 Osun governorship election.
The 2026 election was characterised by an intense campaign between the major political parties, with Adeleke seeking re-election against a strong challenge from the APC and other contenders.
The election also recorded security concerns and isolated incidents in some parts of the state, including reported cases of violence and disruptions during voting and the collation of results.
