The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, candidate for Wukari/Ibi Federal Constituency in Taraba State, Alhaji Muktar Galadima, has donated a 35KVA transformer to Unguwar Ciki community in Ibi Local Government Area.
Presenting the equipment on Sunday in Ibi, Galadima said the intervention was to address the community’s prolonged electricity blackout.
Represented by the Director General of the Galadima Campaign Organisation for the 2027 General Election, Mr. Zando Hoku, the candidate said the donation followed repeated complaints from residents over the breakdown of the community’s transformer.
Galadima noted that the power outage had disrupted both economic and social activities in Unguwar Ciki.
He expressed commitment to the provision of more basic and social amenities in the area in the near future.
Receiving the transformer on behalf of the community, the Sarkin Ibi, His Royal Highness Alhaji Abubakar Danbawuro III, expressed appreciation for the gesture.
The monarch said the donation had brought relief to residents who had endured hardship due to the prolonged power outage.
Danbawuro appealed to sons and daughters of Ibi, especially those in positions of influence, to emulate the gesture by supporting projects that would improve the lives of their communities.
He commended Galadima for responding to the community’s complaint within one week and prayed for Allah to reward him and all those who contributed to the project.
Some residents who spoke with our correspondent described the donation as tremendous and timely.
They said the new transformer was expected to improve electricity supply across a significant part of Ibi town.
The residents urged people of the Ibi/Wukari Federal Constituency to judge leadership by concrete actions rather than promises.
