Former Sokoto State Governor and former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Sen. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, has congratulated the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar III, on his 70th birthday.
Tambuwal, in a message posted on his verified X handle, joined the Muslim Ummah, the people of Sokoto State and Nigerians in celebrating the Sultan’s milestone.
He described the Sultan’s 70 years as a remarkable journey marked by service, discipline, wisdom, faith and commitment to peace and national unity.
According to him, the Sultan’s distinguished career in the Nigerian Army and nearly two decades on the throne of the Sokoto Caliphate have demonstrated his dedication to serving humanity.
Tambuwal said Sultan Abubakar had continued to discharge the responsibilities of the throne with dignity, humility and wisdom, particularly during critical moments in the country.
He also commended the Sultan for promoting interfaith harmony, dialogue and peaceful coexistence across religious, ethnic and regional divides.
“For us in Sokoto, His Eminence represents something even deeper. The Sultanate is part of our history, our identity and our collective heritage,” Tambuwal said.
He added that the Sultan had preserved the dignity of the historic institution while using its influence to promote peace, education, development and national unity.
Tambuwal prayed to Almighty Allah to grant Sultan Abubakar good health, strength and wisdom to continue serving the Muslim Ummah, Sokoto State and Nigeria.
He also prayed for the continued preservation of the Sultanate and for the Sultan to remain a source of wise counsel and leadership for generations to come.
