A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sokoto State and Board Member of the Sokoto State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Alhaji Aliyu Sahabi-Yar Abba, has urged Muslims to promote peace, unity, compassion and love for humanity as they celebrate Maulud.
Sahabi-Yar Abba, in a message to mark the birth of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), urged Muslims to reflect on the Prophet’s teachings and exemplary qualities, including honesty, justice, tolerance, forgiveness and service to humanity.
He said the significance of Maulud goes beyond celebration, stressing the need for Muslims to demonstrate the Prophet’s virtues in their daily lives by promoting peaceful coexistence, mutual respect and concern for the less privileged.
The former Chairman of the Sokoto State chapter of the Bureau De Change Operators also called on political, religious, traditional and community leaders to promote dialogue and place the welfare of the people above personal and political differences.
He urged young Nigerians to emulate the Prophet by embracing discipline, hard work, humility, knowledge and respect for others.
Sahabi-Yar Abba further called on Muslims to use the occasion to pray for peace, security and prosperity in Sokoto State and Nigeria.
He prayed for divine guidance for the country’s leaders and peace, unity and sustainable development across the nation, while wishing Muslims a peaceful and spiritually rewarding Maulud celebration.
