Benue 2027: Aondoakaa Appoints Dzever as Campaign Director-General

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Benue State, Chief Michael Kaase Aondoakaa, SAN, has appointed Dr Augustine Laha Dzever as Director-General of the Aondoakaa/Ogbenjuwa Campaign Organisation ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

The appointment takes immediate effect, according to a statement issued on Monday by Aondoakaa’s Media Assistant, James Ian.

Dzever, who hails from Buruku Local Government Area of Benue State, is Chairman of the PDP G-14 and a former Chairman of the Benue State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB).

Aondoakaa described Dzever as a tested political leader, bridge-builder and strategist with the experience to coordinate a statewide campaign, mobilise supporters and promote the campaign’s “Benue First” message across the state.

The statement said Dzever would also liaise with the Strategic Alliance and the Rainbow Coalition as part of efforts to broaden support for the campaign.

According to Aondoakaa, the appointment reflects the campaign’s plan to assemble a team of experienced and credible individuals who share its vision for security, economic development and inclusive governance in Benue State.

He expressed confidence that Dzever would deploy his political experience, organisational skills and knowledge of grassroots politics in coordinating the campaign.

Aondoakaa said other members of the campaign organisation would be announced after consultations with key PDP stakeholders, including former Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom, Senate Minority Leader Senator Patrick Abba Moro, the party’s State Executive Committee and other leaders.

He thanked the PDP leadership, stakeholders and members for their support and called for sustained unity within the party ahead of the 2027 election.

The governorship candidate said his campaign would continue to focus on security, economic prosperity, healthcare, quality education and opportunities for residents of the state.

Aondoakaa was affirmed as the PDP governorship candidate for the 2027 Benue State election in May, with Dr Oyije Ochaekiti Ogbenjuwa named as his running mate.
