From Bashir Rabe Mani in Sokoto
The Member representing Wurno/Rabah Federal Constituency in Sokoto State, Hon. Ibrahim Almustapha-Rabah has donated 30 motorcycles to security agencies to boost security operations in the constituency.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony held on Tuesday in Rabah Local Government Area, the lawmaker said the initiative was aimed at complementing the efforts of the Sokoto State Government in tackling insecurity across affected communities.
He added that the intervention was part of his commitment to supporting security agencies and improving the safety of the lives and property of residents in the constituency.
Hon. Almustapha-Rabah urged the beneficiary agencies to make effective and judicious use of the motorcycles to achieve the desired objectives, assuring that he would introduce more interventions in other critical sectors.
Earlier in his remarks, the Chairman of Rabah Local Government Area, Hon. Yusuf Muhammad-Rabah commended the lawmaker for a timely intervention, describing it as a significant step towards addressing insecurity in the area.
In his goodwill message, the District Head of Rabah, Alhaji Bello Abdullahi, appreciated the lawmaker for the initiative and pledged the support of traditional and community leaders in the collective efforts to bring insecurity under control.
Also speaking, the Member representing Rabah Local Government Area in the Sokoto State House of Assembly, Hon. Abdullahi Zakari, said the beneficiaries included the Nigeria Police Force, Nigerian Army, Department of State Services (DSS), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Community Guards Corps in Rabah and Wurno, as well as the State Intelligence Project (SIP) in Rabah.
On his part, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Human Rights, Hon. Yahaya Sani-Rarah described the intervention as timely and highly commendable.
The event was attended by traditional rulers from Rabah and Wurno, heads and representatives of security agencies, community leaders, politicians, and other stakeholders.
