The First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has assured the Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu of her support for the renewed advocacy to accord Lagos State a special status as the nation’s former capital.
She was responding to a request by the Oba to her to push the age-long agitation by the people of Lagos State, during a courtesy visit to the monarch.
Thanking the Oba for for receiving her and her entourage at his palace, the First Lady said: “I assure you that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will do well for this country.
“He loves Nigeria, he loves Nigerians and will do the best for them.”
Senator Oluremi Tinubu said that the request by Oba Akiolu for a special status for Lagos state would get the attention of the National Assembly through the Lagos State representatives.
Before making his request, the Oba of Lagos had
noted that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu meant well for the nation a grassroots focused person, urging that Nigerians should pray for him.
“All that I am saying and appealing is that we should pray for Nigeria and the president. We should be patient. Everything good needs prayer,” he said.
Oba Akiolu also admonished the youth to be closer to God, noting that Nigerian youth are majorly good and hardworking
“ Though some youth are incurably lazy and are always waiting to be spoon-fed; teach them not to always wait for fish but learn how to fish themselves “.
The First Lady visited the Oba in the company of wives of some of the South West Governors, wives of National Assembly Members,wives of some ministers and wives of service chiefs thanked the royal father for his continued support, prayers and admonitions, her media aide, Bukola Kukoyi said in a statement.
