2027: Yobe APC Sets Up Reconciliation Committees to Unite Party Ahead of Primaries

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Yobe State has constituted three zonal reconciliation committees to address internal differences and strengthen unity ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The committees, approved by the party’s State Working Committee, are expected to engage critical stakeholders, receive complaints from aggrieved members and facilitate reconciliation across the party’s various groups and structures.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Yobe APC Chairman, Alhaji Muhammed Gadaka, and made available to journalists in Damaturu by his media aide, Hajiya Saadatu Maina.
According to the statement, the appointments were based on the appointees’ contributions, commitment and loyalty to the party.
It said the committees would provide an enabling platform for all party members, irrespective of their groups or affiliations, particularly ahead of the party’s primaries.
The committees are also mandated to coordinate and unify the party’s structures and support groups under a common platform as the APC prepares for the 2027 elections.
They are expected to consult with stakeholders, identify areas of conflict and recommend solutions to issues requiring genuine reconciliation.
Yobe East
For Yobe East, Alhaji Muhammed Lamin was appointed chairman, while Alhaji Mala Musti will serve as vice chairman.
Other members are Alhaji Umara Baba Usman, Alhaji Babayo Jalo Tetteba, Alhaji Lawal Kawu, Alhaji Ba’ari Goni Mama, Alhaji Ibrahim Dapchi, Alhaji Bello Arabi, Senator Jalo Zarami, Alhaji Modu Aji Juluri, Alhaji Rabiu Dapchi and Awari Abba Gaidam.
Alhaji Modu Ma’aji Ajiri will serve as secretary.
Yobe South
In Yobe South, Engr. Abubakar D. Aliyu is the chairman, with Aliyu Sale Bagare as vice chairman.
Members include Senator Alkali Abdulkadir Jajere, Alhaji Baba Ardo Potiskum, Alhaji Ayuba Muqaddas, Alhaji Adamu Chilariye, Alhaji Yunusa Kukuri, Hajiya Halima Joda, Barrister Abubakar Bala Ajeje, Alhaji Ibrahim Umar, Alhaji Abdullahi Daki, Alhaji Adam Yahaya Alabura and Hajiya Fati Jajere.
Barrister Aliyu Shehu Fika will serve as secretary.
Yobe North
For Yobe North, Maina Suleiman Garba was named chairman, while Hon. Sidi Yakubu Karasuwa will serve as vice chairman.
The committee members are Engr. Muhammed Kati Machina, Alhaji Adamu Lamido, Alhaji Gamcho Tela, Alhaji Budde Sheriff, Alhaji Zannah Ali Zakariya, Alhaji Shehu Riga, Alhaji Sani Inuwa, Alhaji Suleiman Garba, Alhaji Lawan Mai Bade, Kadai Muhammed Kadai and Hajiya Hajara Lawan.
Barrister Yusuf Bala Haladu will serve as secretary.
The APC said the committees are expected to complete their assignments and submit their reports within two weeks of their inauguration.
