Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona were named Men’s and Women’s Club of the Year respectively at the 2026 Ballon d’Or ceremony, with the Spanish side extending the country’s dominance at the awards.
PSG beat Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Bodo/Glimt and Flamengo to claim the men’s award, becoming the first winner from outside Spain at the ceremony.
Former Arsenal stars Sol Campbell and Patrick Vieira presented the award in recognition of the French club’s achievements.
Barcelona, meanwhile, won the women’s category after a remarkable season in which they secured a quadruple.
Barcelona president Joan Laporta received the award on behalf of the club from Campbell and Vieira, who were members of Arsenal’s famous unbeaten 2003/04 Premier League team.
The victory marked Barcelona’s fifth award of the night, extending Spain’s impressive run at the ceremony.
Spanish winners had claimed the first seven awards presented, underlining the country’s growing influence in European and global football.
The Club of the Year awards recognise the performances and achievements of teams in men’s and women’s football over the assessment period.
