Petrol hits N1,430 per litre in Kebbi, NNPC sells at N1,400

Date:

Petrol sells for N1,430 per litre at about 90 per cent of privately owned filling stations operated by independent marketers in Birnin Kebbi and its environs, Kebbi State.

A report by this paper said a few filling stations operated by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) sold the product at N1,400 per litre.

The difference in pump prices means motorists buying from the privately owned stations pay N30 more per litre than customers patronising the NNPC outlets.

At N1,430 per litre, a motorist buying 40 litres of petrol would spend N57,200, compared with N56,000 at stations selling for N1,400 per litre.

The report did not specify when the latest prices took effect or the factors responsible for the difference in prices among the filling stations.

It also did not provide details of the prices charged by other marketers or indicate whether the price variations had affected fuel supply across the area.
