Guber Poll: Adamawa APC spits fire, tasks INEC, FG on credible poll

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the PDP led Federal Government have been tasked on the need to ensure credible governorship bye-election in Adamawa state on Saturday.

Alhaji Abdurrahman Abba Jimeta, the Deputy Director of APC gubernatorial candidate’s Campaign Organization gave the tasked while addressing a campaign rally in Fufore Local Government of the state.

“INEC must take necessary measures to ensure election materials arrive on time. If INEC delayed for one minute, we are going to protest for one hour.

“We are not going to tolerate excuses such as absence of register, short supply of ballot papers or lack of ink and the rest.

 “We want peace but if anybody tries to cheat us we will be worst than hell.

“We have stayed long in poverty under PDP, we have stayed long under state of emergency under PDP, in fact we are undergoing untold hardship and the only thing left is to die; we are ready to die protecting our votes”, Jimeta said.

Jimeta lauded what he described as the commitment of Adamawa people to change and urged them not be intimidate by anybody on Election Day by coming out en masse to vote and protect their votes.

He also lauded the effort of the Nigerian military and other security agencies in combating the threats of insurgency in the state and urged them not to allow politicians to drag them into politics on Election Day.

“God bless Nigerian Army. You are great and I want you to be professionals and do your job of protecting the nation and its citizens.

“You must not allow anyone to denigrate you by using you to protect rigged ballot boxes.

 “You should tell who ever try to use you to rig that peace and order can only be maintained if the game is played according to the rules”, Jimeta said.

Other speakers at the rally including the state party chairperson, Binta Garba and the party gubernatorial candidate, Sen Bindo Jibrilla, urged the electorates to vote APC for the needed change to transform the state.

“ I am overwhelmed by the reception and mass turn out of people in Fufore for APC and hope you will translate it to votes on Saturday to emancipate our state from PDP with its failed promises”, Jibrilla said.
