Coalition of Benue youth groups drum support for female guber aspirant

Date:

From Uche Nnorom, Makurdi

A group in Benue State under the aegis of Coalition of Idoma/Igede youths has lamented over the shallow pool of an unpopular and fast fading ideology which presents no meaningful atmosphere for development; but rather failed to advance its course by truncating the very essence of the concept of standard democratic principles, norms and values, instituted and adopted by international standard.

The group at a joint conference held in Makurdi yesterday on zoning, equal agenda and power rotation for governorship position in the state, pledged total support of any man/woman who distinguishes himself/herself above his/her peers most especially in the quest to facilitate the actualization of seeding the governorship ticket to Idoma land.

They noted that the five candidates who are vying for the seat of the Governor of Benue State from zone C have good potentials enough to be saddled with this noble responsibility of leading the state but posited that in order to streamline and unify their agitations, there is a need to make a decision by picking the most viable of them, based on acceptability, contributory impact and popularity in the zone.

“We make bold to say that we have settled for a woman that can, and is ready to give her male counterparts a run for what they claim to know best, the phantom “so called ‘preserve of men’ and yet beat them to it, a Benue woman that has fulfilled all the rights to be called ideal mother of Benue as a result of her past and well backed antecedents.

“Chief Engr. Amb. Mrs. Roseline Ada Chenge, FNSE,a wife and mother of children in zone ‘A’ resident for over twenty five years in zone ‘B’ and a child and daughter in zone ‘C’ in particular Ogbadibo local government have met all the rights and condition, listed above and more, fits the position of that ideal woman personality we are yearning for, and as such should be given a chance to effect change with a view to compliment the wise saying that, “variety is the spice of life”, This we believe have created a soft landing for the wide level of criticism presently witnessed by the men, as they have held sway for such a long time, with no significant democratic satisfaction, or change on the Governed” they stated.

The group which numbered over 9,000 members therefore enjoined the youths of zone A and B to march with them on this road to change the face of Benue political, economic, social and moral landscape called “Roadmap to Success”, an ideal democratic ideology as the change in which they seek is right at our finger tips, “for if we train and empower a woman; you have trained and empowered the future of a nation”.
