Kaduna airlift 2, 516 pilgrims back to Nigeria

Kaduna state have so far airlifted about 2, 516 pilgrims out of its over 5, 000 pilgrims that performed this year’s hajj from Saudi Arabia back to Nigeria, Peoples Daily has gathered.

The pilgrims were airlifted in 10 return flights conducted by Saudi based airline, FlynassAir.

Kaduna state commenced airlifting its pilgrims few days ago and was among the first states to begin in Nigeria.

The state Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board Public Relations Officer, Yunusa Muhammad Abdullahi, who gave the update of the returned flights to Peoples Daily in Makkah, said the over two thousand pilgrims were airlifted back home from 10 local government areas of the state.

“So far,Kaduna state has airlifted 2, 516 pilgrims back home to Nigeria in just ten flights. The pilgrims, as you are aware, were airlifted by Flynass Air, a Saudi based airline.

He gave the names of the local government whose pilgrims were airlifted as Soba, Zaria, Kagarko, Ikara andMakarfi.Others were Giwa, Zangon-Kataf, Sanga, Igabi, Kaduna North and somepilgrims from Sabon Gari Local government areas of the state.

The board’s image maker further added that almost all the pilgrims airlifted back home went with their main luggage, adding that the board hopes to complete the airlift of all the state’s pilgrims soon.

Peoples Daily also gathered that Kano air was expected to present its air schedule on when it will start airlifting the state pilgrims’ home.
