The Building and Construction Skilled Artisans of Nigeria (BACSAAN) has called on the Federal government to demonstrate a genuine spirit of give and take in ensuring the actualization of the ceasefire agreement.
In a statement signed by the association’s National Publicity secretary, Adams Ankpa, the association’s national president, Fasasi Mohammed-Jamiu, commended Government’s efforts stressing that it is a big source of relief to all peace loving Nigerians.
“The news has brought big relief to all peace loving Nigerians. The President should give all it takes to achieve a negotiated permanent settlement.
Nigeria is a beautiful country, blessed and endowed with enough resources to make all citizens happy, including our members who toil to build homes of Nigerians across the country.
We therefore reiterate our call to the President to demonstrate genuine spirit of give and take to make the ceasefire successful and permanent.
According to the statement, Mohammed-Jamiu noted that a permanent success in the fight against terror would win the present administration, the admiration of a life time. “Your name shall be written in gold in the history of Nigeria for generations to appreciate your ending this national calamity through negotiations. In most countries of the world; People ‘war war’, only to still ‘jaw jaw’ to make peace”.
It called on the president to disregard the comments of those who might be disheartened by the news of this ceasefire for their selfish interest, saying; “That your administration is negotiating a peaceful end to this insurgency reflects your maturity and tactical approach rather than weakness”, the statement noted.
